What Can We Do?

Vote for anyone but your Incumbent !

1. Vote - No matter what. We might want to consider starting the CHANGE we need with a vote for a new representative as most all incombents have failed us in my opinion. If "We the People" could cause an 80 or 90% turnover - we might get their attention.

2. Learn About the Issues - Do Not Trust any single news network to give you the whole story and understand that only a fraction of the news is on television. A simple internet search on the subject will reveal a wealth of well researched information.

3. Consider Supporting a national right to Initiative & Referendum. Until WE, THE PEOPLE, have the right to repeal a bad law and/or make the tough laws, our government will continue to write bad checks and squander our tax dollars.

The People's right to Make A Law by Inititiative is a form of Direct Democracy which has been alive and well at state and local levels since 1777. The Initiative is recognized in 24 states and the District of Columbia. The Initiative is generally combined with the right to Referendum - the People's right to overturn legislation already passed at the state or local levels. United States law begins in Congress. Congress includes the House of Representatives and the Senate. United States law is initiated by the introduction of a proposal in the form of a Bill or Joint Resolution.

Bills: A bill is the form used for most legislation, whether permanent or temporary, general or special, public or private. A bill originating in the House of Representatives is designated by the letters "H.R.", signifying "House of Representatives", followed by a number that it retains throughout all its parliamentary stages. Bills are presented to the President for action when approved in identical form by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Joint Resolutions : Joint resolutions may originate either in the House of Representatives or in the Senate. There is little practical difference between a bill and a joint resolution. Both are subject to the same procedure, except for a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution. On approval of such a resolution by two-thirds of both the House and Senate, it is sent directly to the Administrator of General Services for submission to the individual states for ratification. It is not presented to the President for approval. A joint resolution originating in the House of Representatives is designated "H.J.Res." followed by its individual number. Joint resolutions become law in the same manner as bills.
